Teaching technical pro-class and facilitating creative intensives is one of my favourite ways to open up my practice which is deeply rooted in sweaty, juicy movement. Furthermore by exploring cross culture influences such as mixing more traditional techniques such as Cunningham and Release with techno, hyper pop and rave culture we are encouraged to find personal ways of moving.

With inclusion at the core of my practice students and professionals are encouraged to stim, to bring their practice in & to explore in ways which feel comfortable to them, without loosing the high technical standard which is expected in the industry.

“Hey, I just wanted to say thank you so much for yesterday. That class reminded me why dance. I felt so challenged in a safe space didn't even realise how hard it had been. honestly had the best time and felt very comfortable in that judge free zone. The use of inclusive language and acknowledging my SSE, waiting until I asked for help etc were all noticed and it really is the smallest things that make the biggest difference. Thank you for offering it and I really hope to work with you again sometime!”

Within my facilitation practice it has always been important to ensure that movement is for every body. I have had the oppurtintu to facilitate Sport England funded Community classes, including over 60’s, seated class, site specific community garden dancing & children’s workshops. Additionally I was a founding facilitator of Amplify, Southpaw’s community performance company and was part of their first performance.

I regularly plan & facilitate sessions both in schools and independent dance schools. As part of this I teach a wide range of styles & classes to children starting from 4 years old and have been at some of the schools I work in for almost three years. Classes include ballet, contemporary, street, gymnastics, creative dance, dance mindfulness, improvisation and both the KS1 & KS2 dance curriculum. I also enjoy the opportunity to choreograph and rehearse end of year routines for performances and showcases.

Within this role I have the opportunity to facilitate weekly classes for SEND children which I find the most fulfilling aspect of my job.

I have an enhanced DBS certificate and hold a child safeguarding certificate from NSPCC learning.

“It has been an absolute joy to have Ze teaching dance to my mixed-age SEND class for the last term. The children respond so well to Ze, who has great patience, a lovely sense of humour and naturally adapts the teaching to the various needs of the children. Ze is sensitive to each child’s individual needs, while still being able to bring the class together to do synchronised routines, building in rest breaks and being flexible with how long we spend on each part of the class, responding to the pupils’ needs, rather than sticking rigidly to a timetable. We have loved working with Ze and can’t recommend their dance teaching highly enough!”
